Update 1/16/19
The MiSeq queue has eight projects, 1803 (currently running), 1804, 1810, 1812, 1813, 1814, 1815 and 1820. The 2nd short run from project 1812 will be started tomorrow and then 1804 will be started on Friday 1/18. Run 1810 will be started on Tuesday 1/22 and 1813 on 1/25.
There are two projects in the NextSeq queue (1817 and 1818) and will be started as soon as possible. Projects for the NextSeq will be QC’d and run within a day or two from sample submission provided QC looks acceptable.
Happy New Year! The only queue at the sequencing core is for the MiSeq.
The MiSeq has six projects in the queue, 1800, 1804, 1809, 1810, 1812, and 1813. One sample from project 1800 is currently running on the MiSeq and the second sample should be loaded on Monday. We expect a run from 1812 and 1804 to be run next week as well.
Projects for the NextSeq will be QC’d and run within a day or two from sample submission provided QC looks acceptable.
Samples for the BioAnalyzer and fragment analyzer will be run as soon as possible.
A few labs have discussed library prep projects with core personnel but there is not yet a queue for library construction projects.
We have submitted and await approval of our new rates. A pending rates page will be created to being advertising the new rates.
Update 12/14/18
We apologize for being inconsistent at updating this information but we’ve been doing our best to keep people informed about their run status.
For a brief time today, we only had two pending runs for the MiSeq, projects 1777 and 1787, one of which was loaded on the MiSeq (1787). However we now have two additionally runs from project 1800.
There are four pending runs for the Next Seq, 1799,1798,1796 and 1794. One is being loaded right now 1797 and the others will be loaded as soon as Monday if we receive approval.
We have had an influx of Bioanalyzer submissions over the past few days. If we don’t clear them all at today, the remaining samples will be run on Monday.
Weekly Update 11/19/18
There are three projects in the queue for the NextSeq: 1780, 1781, 1782. At least two of three will be run during the short week. The third may get run but data may not be transferred until next week.
The Miseq is running Project 1776 and three projects (1777, 1778, 1779) are in the queue. Due to the length of these runs, most are 2×300 bp, we will only be able to complete one this week and the remaining runs should be loaded next week.
All Sanger sequencing samples submitted to date have either been sequenced and the users have been notified or, for the very recent samples, will be posted tomorrow. As an aside, please notice that our sequencing rates are very competitive to other companies $4.00 per plate (~40 samples) and $4.75 per tube. As an example, we are either the same price or slightly less expensive than Eton, depending on what sequencing format you’re interested in.

Weekly Update 11/5/18
There is one project in the queue for the NextSeq, Project 1768 which will be loaded tomorrow. If you have samples to submit the library will be run ASAP (often within 1-2 days of the user confirming they want to proceed with the run after QC steps).
The Miseq is running Project 1775 and three Projects are in the queue 1769, 1774, and 1776. 1769 will be run tomorrow and the other two will be run next week. We have had in increase in MiSeq submissions this week and several individuals informed us that they will be submitting more in the near future.
All Sanger sequencing samples submitted to date have either been sequenced and the users have been notified or, for the very recent samples, will be posted tomorrow. As an aside, please notice that our sequencing rates are very competitive to other companies $4.00 per plate (~40 samples) and $4.75 per tube. As an example, we are either the same price or slightly less expensive than Eton, depending on what sequencing format you’re interested in.
We will be offering a Library bead clean-up, Library pooling, and Library submission workshop on Nov. 14th.

There is no queue for the NextSeq, so if you have samples to submit the library will be run ASAP (often within 1-2 days of the user confirming they want to proceed with the run after QC steps). Project 1768 will be loaded onto one of the NextSeqs as soon as we finish quantifying the sample.
The Miseq is running Project 1766 and two Projects are in the queue 1767 and 1769. Both samples will probably be run this week.

There is no queue for the NextSeq so if you have samples to submit the library will be run ASAP. There at two projects in the MiSeq queue, 1752, 1753, 1754. Both of these libraries will be run this week.
Sanger sequencing submitted over the weekend was run this morning and data will be send out later today.
We will be having a Qubit/Bioanalyzer workshop on Oct. 16 from 1-2PM.
Weekly Update 9/24/18
The MiSeq queue has one project 1750, which will be loaded on the sequencer today. There are no pending projects for the NextSeq. Thus if anyone has libraries for submission we can get them QC’d and sequenced this week as they are submitted.
There is not a queue for BioAnalyzer runs and the Sanger sequencing samples submitted over the weekend are currently being processed.
Weekly Update 9/17/18
There are two MiSeq runs currently in the sequencing queue and all are planned for this week, 1745 and 1747. There are two NextSeq submissions in the queue which will be run this week as well, 1746 and 1744.
The Genomics core now has the Earth microbiome sequencing primer 16s sequencing primers for Read 1, Read 2, and indexing.
Weekly Update 9/10/18
There are four MiSeq runs currently in the sequencing queue and all are planned for this week, 1665, 1737, 1738, and 1741. There is only a single NextSeq in the queue which will be run this week as well.
The Sanger sequencer is performing well and CFX #1 has been repaired.
We received and email from a Core User regarding an phosphor imaging issue with the Typhoon over the weekend. If anyone is planning to use the Typhoon please let a core staff member know that we may observe if an issue arrises.
Weekly Update 8/27/18
Sequencing and BioAnalyzer Status:
Currently, the MiSeq has six libraries in the queue (projects: 1728, 1730, 1731, 1732, 1736, 1737 ). We expect to complete projects 1732, 1737, and 1730 this week The NextSeq queue has one library in the queue, project 1734, which will be run shortly. If any researches have NextSeq runs waiting now would be a good time to submit as the library will be loaded shortly after QC steps
There is currently not a queue for any bioanalyzer run and Sanger sequencing has been cleared and should be send out today or early tomorrow. The Sanger sequencing data may have a noticeable improvement as our periodic maintenance was performed Last Thursday.
CFX #1 is currently down awaiting repairs but we have four other qPCR machines.
Weekly Update 8/20/18
Sequencing and BioAnalyzer Status:
Currently, the MiSeq has one library in the queue (project 1731) and three projects listed (1728-1730) but the libraries have yet to be submitted. The NextSeq queue has two libraries in the queue projects 1718, 1727 . Both 1718 and 1727 QC’ed and will be run shortly after approval.
One RNA Bioanalyzer chip is pending on receiving reagents and only a few samples are waiting for a DNA Bioanalyzer chip to fill. All Sanger sequencing is pending is being run with the exception of the half-plate submitted earlier this morning.
Weekly Update 8/13/18
Sequencing and BioAnalyzer Status:
Currently, the MiSeq does not have a queue, one run just ended and the run for project 1716 will be started today. The NextSeq queue has four libraries projects 1718, 1722, 1723, and 1725. Both 1723 and 1722 will be started today and pending confirmation of running conditions 1718 and 1725 should be started tomorrow. Thus all pending MiSeq or NextSeq runs should be completed by the end of the week.
There is not a queue for BioAnalyzer at this time and to our current knowledge only eight tubes of Sanger sequencing are waiting to be processed.
WorkShops:
Thank you for the enthusiastic response to our Qubit/Bioanalyzer workshop. We have filled all seats at this time and we will set a have another workshop on Aug 28th (time to be determined).
Nanostring will be returning for a followup seminar regarding their nSprint demo instrument currently at the Genomics Core. The workshop is set for Thursday September 6 from 10 AM to 2 PM in the Genomics Auditorium.
Other workshops for qPCR, FastQC and a vendor presentation for the Typhoon scanner are being planned and we will send out announcements as the data and time are set.
